Second Quarter 2023 Grant Awards 

The Foundation awarded $101,500.00 in grants for the second quarter of 2023. 

Ashville Area Heritage Society 
The Ashville Area Heritage Society is working on a project to create an inclusive space for the community to gather. The space will provide seating, wifi, and a charging station to encourage community connection while contributing to the revitalization of the downtown area. This area will be designed to serve the whole community and will also highlight the museum, making it a welcoming destination in Ashville.

Emergency Clearinghouse Association Food Pantry 
The Emergency Clearinghouse Association Food Pantry’s mission is to provide food to Pickaway County residents in need while upholding their values of stewardship, compassion, dependability, and respect. The objective of the grant is to expand their capacity to store perishable food commodities and improve physical accessibility, thereby enhancing their service to clients.

Haven House 
Haven House of Pickaway County’s Domestic Violence and Homeless Advocacy Program offers comprehensive services to all victims of domestic violence seeking help to escape violence within their relationships. Their services include providing shelter, safety planning, counseling, crisis intervention, a 24-hour crisis hotline, court advocacy, case management, and referrals to resources. The program aims to assist families in creating a safe and nurturing environment for themselves and their children.

Pickaway County Community Action 
PICCA’s Wheels to Work Program empowers people to become self-sufficient by offering a unique opportunity to purchase a reliable and affordable vehicle. Eligible applicants are individuals that are working and or attending school full time and have no transportation. These individuals are required to save $1,000 towards the purchase of a vehicle, attend online money management classes, and obtain car insurance, once they have completed their goals PICCA will contribute up to $3,000 towards the purchase of a vehicle.

Pickaway County Historical Society 
The Pickaway County Historical Society and Genealogical Library is the holder of the original Pickaway County Probate court records from 1810-1958. They are working to digitalize these records to further preserve these original documents.

Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center 
Pickaway Ross Career and Technology will use these grant funds to purchase welding equipment for the new FFA program at Circleville High School. Over 100 students participated in the first year the program was offered. Next school year, as they continue to expand the program, the plan is to add new courses such as Animal and Plant Science, Livestock Selection, Nutrition and Management, and Ag Business.

Scioto Township Fire Department 
The Scioto Township Fire Department will be holding a community CPR and First Aid program. They aim to provide the residents of Scioto Township and Pickaway County with the necessary understanding of how to initiate CPR or first aid before EMS arrival on the scene. The program’s goal is to give the community an opportunity to learn these lifesaving skills, which can significantly increase the likelihood of Return of Spontaneous Circulation (ROSC) in emergency situations.

The Table 
The Table is a program that offers hot meals to approximately 100 individuals who may be experiencing food insecurity in their households every Saturday evening. People in need have the option to take meals home in to-go containers or choose to “dine in” and attend a short worship service. The worship service is designed not only to provide a meal but also to build relationships with the individuals and determine if there are any additional needs in their households that could be addressed through other community resources.

The Covering 
The Covering is an organization that offers outreach and Biblical hospitality by providing residential and transitional living environments for women and children. Their mission is to redeem women’s lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ within a Christian home, fostering a rebuilding of family.

Round Town As One 
The Round Town As One Impact program aims to strengthen families and support youth in the Pickaway County area. They are dedicated to making a lasting impact by providing attachment-centered content and self-regulation strategies to caregivers and professionals working with at-risk youth. Certified trainers from the organization will offer a variety of trauma-informed curriculum tailored to meet the specific needs of each population they serve.
