Rodger and Patricia Southward, lifelong residents of Pickaway County, first met while teaching in the Teays Valley School District. Deeply rooted in the community, they raised three daughters who all attended Teays Valley schools. Today, all their daughters carry on the family legacy working in the Pickaway County community and two of them are teachers within the district.
Eligibility Criteria
- This scholarship will only be available to graduating seniors of Teays Valley High School.
- Candidate must be pursuing any post-secondary school including technical, vocational, college or university.
- Applicants must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale

- 40% Financial Need
- 25% Community Service
- 25% School Attendance
- 10% Leadership

Award Amount & Payment Distribution
Award money must be utilized toward tuition and academic fees.

Application and Award Process
- Pickaway County Community Foundation will send applications to Teays Valley. The application will be open year round on PCCF’s website yourpccf.org
- Candidates complete the paper application by the deadline.
- After the deadline, the Pickaway County Community Foundation reviews complete applications for eligibility.
- The Foundation sets up the selection committee meeting.
- Finalists are chosen by the selection committee.
- Interviews of the finalist take place.
- The Foundation sends denial letters to those who did not receive the scholarship.
- The Foundation sends award letters to recipients that include an explanation of the payment request process and the proof of enrollment form.
- Once proof of enrollment has been received by the Foundation, a check will be sent to the recipient’s educational institution.
