We have established the Warren B. Sneed and Wally Yamarick Engineering Scholarship at OSU through the Pickaway County Community Foundation.
The Community Foundations Inc. will distribute net income and/or principal from this fund to provide scholarship awards to graduates of a Pickaway County, Ohio high school who are attending The Ohio State University as upperclassmen in the College of Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate of a Pickaway County, Ohio school district high school (Circleville High School, Logan Elm High School, Teays Valley High School, Westfall High School)
- Candidate must be attending The Ohio State University
- Candidate must be a College of Engineering Student
- Candidate must be an undergraduate, attend on a full-time basis and maintain a good academic standing based on the university’s academic standards
Selection Criteria
- Recipients will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement and potential, character, and commitment to their academic program, participation college and community.
Selection Committee
- Members shall include a representative of the Sneed family.
- There shall be a minimum of three and up to five members on the committee: their criteria should also include: citizen of Pickaway County; association with OSU as a graduate; or OSU staff member.
- There shall be at least two members with engineering degrees from any discipline.
Payment Distribution
- Scholarship awards shall be paid directly to the Ohio State University
- Awards may be used for any educational expenses.
Scholarship Renewal
- The Selection Committee has the Authority to award, or not to award, a scholarship annually, based on eligibility candidates
- Recipient(s) may reapply each year and will be subject to the same eligibility requirements and criteria. Renewal of a scholarship award will not be automatic and will lie in the discretion of the selection committee.

Application and Award Process
- Candidates complete the application by the deadline.
- After the deadline, the Pickaway County Community Foundation reviews complete applications for eligibility.
- The Foundation sets up the selection committee meeting.
- Finalists are chosen by the selection committee.
- Interviews of the finalist take place.
- The Foundation sends denial letters to those who did not receive the scholarship.
- The Foundation sends award letters to recipients that include an explanation of the payment request process and the proof of enrollment form.
- Once proof of enrollment has been received by the Foundation, a check will be sent to the recipientu2019s educational institution.
