The Don Bucher Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Don Bucher, a retired Vocational Agriculture teacher and passionate community volunteer in Pickaway County. Over his 32-year teaching career, Don inspired students at Leipsic, Paint Valley, and Teays Valley High Schools, serving as both a teacher and FFA advisor. He was also deeply involved in 4-H, the Pickaway County Fairboard, and the design of the Ag Ed building at Teays Valley. Known for leading soil and livestock judging contests and organizing trips to the National FFA Convention, Don was dedicated to helping students grow through agricultural education. In retirement, he continued his service as Farm Manager at Mount Oval Historical House and remained active in his church and community. Don’s life was marked by a strong faith, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to others. He passed away on August 11, 2024, at the age of 74.
