Pickaway County Ag Foundation Presents Grant for Ag Day 2017

The Pickaway County Community Foundation (PCCF) is pleased to announce that the Pickaway County Agricultural Foundation Fund issued a grant totaling $1,000 to the Pickaway County Soil and Water Conservation District and Pickaway County Farm Bureau. The grant was presented by the Pickaway County Ag Foundation in support of Ag Day which is co-sponsored by these two agencies. This Fund supports agricultural education throughout the county and is pleased to support Ag Day which hosts over 800 fourth graders at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds each year. This year’s event will be held on September 8, 2017. This fund has been a supporter of this event for a number of years.

Committee member Tim Wilson said “The fund supports this program because this foundation was created to support ag education in Pickaway County and what better way than supporting Ag Day. The 800+ fourth graders we are able to reach via this program may not have the opportunity to gain experience in agriculture first hand, to know where their food comes from or to realize agriculture’s importance to our county’s economy. It is a great program that allows hands on interaction with livestock, farm machinery and agribusinesses.”
